What Happens At A Party When DJ Plays Davido's 'AYE'

I was at a wedding several weeks ago and and the reaction of folks when Davido's 'Aye' came on was interesting. People LOVE this song.

So I took shots of the ladies dancing but I think the guys were something else! LOL.

Is Your Aso-Ebi Ready?

I love weddings!!! (*bigsmile*); weddings in Nigeria are really a big deal for everyone that will be a part of it. Getting your aso-ebi and making sure it is ready as at when needed is one of the troubles you have to go through just to be a part of that wedding ceremony.

On many occasions, I have declined going to a wedding because I either don’t have the aso-ebi or mine is not ready due to tailoring hassles and when I decide to go to a wedding without the aso-ebi, I do my home-work by ‘encouraging myself in the Lord’ (lol and *smh*) such that when I’m in the midst of others who have their own aso-ebi, I don’t feel bad or out of place (I’m sure we can all relate to this especially the ladies *winks*).

But of recent, during a Bible Study in the book of Matthew 22:1-14, I discovered that there is one wedding where you have to be with your aso-ebi as a child of God and that is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Without this aso-ebi, a child of God is definitely going to be out of place and will be denied entrance during the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. From the parable illustrated by Jesus Christ in that passage of the Bible, it is not enough to be among the crowd invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, we must distinguish ourselves from others by ensuring that we have not stained or wrinkled our garment with sin and ensure that we have the right aso-ebi (wedding clothes) that is, we must ensure that our righteousness is of God.

It is our duty to look out for our aso-ebi and do all that is within our power to make it ready without any spots or wrinkle. Most times I think to myself and say ‘Lord, not even a wrinkle?!?! That’s quite scary and difficult!!!’ (*whew*) But HE continually makes me understand that HIS grace is sufficient for us and because we know HIM and are HIS children, HE has given us the power to live a godly life (2 Peter 1:3) such that our aso-ebi would be without spot and wrinkle on that glorious day.

Brethren, even as we prepare for that glorious wedding day between ourselves and our Bridegroom, let us key into the grace our Father has made available unto us, let us continue to please HIM in all that we do, let us continually pursue righteousness, let us do well to watch and keep our aso-ebi (garments) as well as make it ready for the coming of our Lord and King so that we will make that wonderful and glorious Marriage Supper of the Lamb on the last day and will not be found wanting. Revelation 16:15a says "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments..." God help us all...

Shalom!!!

"Producing Figurine Was Most Challenging" - Kunle Afolayan Speaks On Career

The producer of three of Nollywood's best movies; Irapada, Figurine and Phone Swap, Kunle Afolayan has said that the movie Figurine took 'sweat and blood' to produce and he thought he was going to die.

Yesterday, I had to opportunity to be part of a Google+ Hangout with Nollywood's finest film maker, Kunle Afolayan alongside two of my colleagues at work; Oluchi and Oge and other folks from across the world.

I asked him two questions and his responses were really interesting.

Of all three (aforementioned) movies, Kunle said Figurine was the most challenging to produce. In his words, it took 'sweat and blood' and he thought he was going to die.

He spoke about a few crazy problems that he encountered on set and worst of all was a big generator falling into the river while they were trying to access a location via water. He also spoke about the terrible sleeping conditions himself, Ramsey Noah and other folks had to endure for the love of the movie.

On one of the days they were shooting, there was an electrical spark that led to all their appliances, including phones and laptops blowing up. Chai!

He described the production as a 'labour of love.' He also said film making is about dedication, passion, not relenting, determination and having the right people around you.

Jump to the 46:16 mark to watch the part where I ask Kunle questions...

#SaveALife: HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN YOU ARE ALONE!

Hi people..

I hardly get to blog as often as i would like to but i'm sure in time... i'll find a balance.

Here's something a friend shared on Facebook which I think we all should have and share... Living in a country like Nigeria and a city like Lagos especially... you find so many health issues!

We now have young folks having high blood pressure etc... We all need to be informed. Read this article on how to combat a heart attack. This could save a life.

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating ...improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
A cardiologist says If everyone who sees this post shares it to 10 people, you can bet that we'll save at least one life.
Rather than sharing jokes only please contribute by forwarding this info which can save a person's life..

Words Of A Friendly Pen

Heeelllloooooo!

I hope it's not too late to say Happy New Year!!! I literally disappeared from on here and I can explain... (in another post)! lol

A friend of mine Jide Elegbede has by his words about me compelled me to share with you this afternoon.

Let me tell you a little about Jide...

I have known him since I was in 200 level... We clicked off from the get-go and have remained friends since then.

We used to 'ping' using non-blackberry phones. LOL! He also taught me how to drive; a bit!

He is a really good guy and today he painted me in beautiful colours...

Way back ago in times long gone,
I met you and every minute with you was fun,
Leaving you on each visit was hard to do,
Returning to see you I always did choose.

I remember how seeing you made me feel,
Like building a separate world and surrounding it with steel,
Where I can whisk you away to talk, laugh and play,
And having nothing to worry about even the next day.

It took me years to let you go,
I'm sure this and more confessions you already know,
A special part of me still craves for you,
My heart still wishes for its dreams to come true.

Your skills and gifts are simply intriguing,
To as many that cares to hear this I will sing,
That whoever has you has got it all,
And should stick with you like a baby to its doll.

I don't want to stop knowing you,
All I remember of you is nothing but good,
Stay the way you are,let not your heart faint,
For in due time, the whole world you'll surely paint!

These words are so beautiful I do not know what title to give the entire thing...

Thank you so much Jide! xoxoxoxo
